Gout is a severe painful arthritic condition which occurs when there is excess uric acid in the body that then goes on to create crystals in the joints. Gout Diet Food to Avoid #1: Beer

As mentioned above, people with gout should avoid foods containing large amounts of purine. Beer is that kind of drink. The purines in beer come from brewer’s yeast, which is three times higher than baker’s yeast. Besides, beer can also slow the elimination of uric acid.

According to one piece of research, people who drink beer every day are 1.5 times more likely to suffer gout than those who do not. But, it is acceptable to drink beer in moderation.
