Inflammation Causing Food #2: Sugar

We already know that sugar is bad for our teeth and waistline, but you may not know that it also fans the flames of inflammation. Excess sugar intake triggers the body to produce cytokines, a pro-inflammatory compound that revs up the fire inside you. Also, sugar has an adverse effect on the immune system which, in turn, affects our ability to cope with inflammation.

It's important to note that a small amount of fructose found in fruits and vegetables are okay. But overdosing on sugar is a bad idea.
